SawCantation is inspired by a true story about a devout family in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, in 2005. It involves the Wu family of six, whose members believed they were possessed by deities and engaged in bizarre rituals—including collective fasting, self-inflicted torment, and even forcing each other to consume human waste as an exorcism. Tragically, the eldest daughter died from starvation, yet the family insisted she was still alive until another member, while “possessed,” declared her death.

You play the role of a family on a trip to Kaohsiung, where you hear villagers whispering about this mysterious case. Driven by curiosity, you decide to explore the lair of the supernatural force, despite locals warning you that the place is the sealed domain of the Great Black Buddha Mother. Deep inside the cave, you suddenly lose consciousness—and awaken in a hospital with strange tattoos marked upon your arms. To your horror, you discover that your youngest daughter has gone missing. Today, your family returns to that very place, determined to rescue her from the darkness.
